Travel to Ooty for your Summer Holidays

Ooty is famously called the princess of hill stations. Ooty lies on the western side of the Niligiri Hills along the Western Ghats bordering Kerala in Tamil Nadu. It was one of the major summer retreats for the British when they were ruling India during the 19th and 20th century.

The Ooty town is well connected by rail and road with rest of India and the scenic natural beauty and the misty hills attract lakhs of tourists from different parts of India.

The nearest airport is in Coimbatore, from where you can take a cab to cover the approx. 100 kms towards Ooty.

The best time to visit Ooty is between December and May, because by June the monsoon starts and weather becomes too humid and wetty. Domestic and international tourists throng to the place during the peak season.


Major places of attraction are the Government Roses Garden, which is by far the largest rose garden in India.

Another huge attraction is the Ooty Botanical Garden which is a 22 acre lush green Government maintained garden with thousands of species, both exotic and indigenous plants.

Another huge attraction is the Ooty Lake which covers an area of 65 acres. Boating facilities are also available in the lake which highly popular with the tourists.
